Digby plays host to a number of natural, experiential, and historical attractions to keep the whole family amused.

Looking to see one or all of the many lighthouses which guided sailors' way as they approached the coast? Check out our lighthouses section, listing all the lighthouses in and around Digby county. Some of the most famous of these include:

• Point Prim, at the end of Lighthouse Rd just outside downtown Digby, offering a beautiful view of the Digby Gut, Victoria Beach, and The Bay of Fundy
• Gilbert's Cove, at the end of (a different) Lighthouse Rd in Gilbert's Cove, just past Plymptonn on Highway 101. This lighthouse and museum offers an outdoor picnic area and beautiful view of Digby Neck and Saint Mary's Bay. There is even a swimming area along the road!
• Grand Passage Lighthouse, at the end of Water St in Westport, on Brier Island, is a popular site among visitors to the islands of Digby Neck. It takes about an hour from Digby to reach Brier Island, after the drive down Digby Neck, a short ferry ride to Long Island (leaving every hour on the half hour), and another short ferry to Brier Island (leaving every hour on the hour).

There isn't a better place in the Maritimes for whale watching than in Digby. Most of the tour operators in the area base their tours from Digby Neck, Long Island, or Brier Island. These locations offer prime whale watching real estate as they are the closest land to areas where whales love to frolic in the summer, the Bay of Fundy. There is a variety of tours to choose from, from traditional fishing boats to Zodiac tours. Don't be afraid to get up close and personal with our underwater mammal friends!

If being on the water isn't your thing, perhaps a tour of a winery is! Digby county, next to the breadbasket of Nova Scotia, Annapolis County, is a great place to begin your winery tour of Nova Scotia. The Bear River Vineyards showcase the unique climate of Bear River, and it can be tasted in their delicious prize winning wines.

For a more family oriented trip, spend the day at one of the many local or provincial parks, hiking the trails to the wonder of nature, the Balancing Rock on Long Island, riding the roller coaster at Upper Clements Park (or perhaps their new Zip Line!), or taking a tour of the Town of Digby. The county has so much to offer, it's hard to fit it all in one weekend!
